Point of entry damaged in the wind.

A junction box installed in the underside of a desk. Some knocked over a cup of coffee and flooded the junction box shorting out the power circuits inside.

Fault on the light fitting caused the circuit breaker to trip. Incorrect lamp was installed in the fitting and insulation had been put over the top of the fitting when insulation covering the fitting is not allowed.

No hot water. I found that water from a past leak had gotten into the switch board and had gone right through the hot water circuit breaker causing it to fail internally.

Removed old light fitting to discover that there was a live exposed, unterminated tail sticking out.

Every time something was plugged in the RCD would trip. I found that the Socket outlet Phase and Earth had been transposed.

Past Work
WTF!

Baten holder in the rain.

Rough neighbourhood.

DIY switch board. Tenant complained of getting shocks off of the stove. Wiring too small and the MEN link left out of the Neutral & Earth bus. (Circled in red)

Someone (not me) ran out of junction boxes. The lighting circuit for the outside PIR sensor and light joined together in an empty jar of 3/4 inch screws.

Socket outlet with the earth conductor not connected.

Customer replaced a plug but mixed up the conductor. Gave himself a shock that put three people in hospital. The earth conductor is connected to the phase (live) pin of the plug.

*facepalm*

Fuse kept blowing so the owner put in a solid chunk of copper. The power circuit was overloaded and had melted and shorted out the service fuse out on the street. Fortunately the street fuse blew before it started a fire but not before damaging other circuits running next to it. Entire power circuit and other the circuits damaged were rewired. The insurance company didn't pay out and cancelled their policy.

Outlets and lights installed in a flimsy MDF cupboard.

Latex glove over the smoke detector.

Live exposed cable join in the ceiling space of a commercial building.

Light cable too close to an old halogen light fitting.

Halogen light fitting too close to timbre.

Loose connection.

Incorrect lamp wattage in a halogen wall fitting. The fitting was rated for 60w and had a 150w installed.

Hot water kit switch went up in smoke.

Dodgy cable join.
